No News

I haven't bogged in a while because there is nothing to report on the shop.  I got the new listings up this week and shipped one custom order out the door.  All in all a good week.
Thing will be slow the next few weeks, as August is upon us and I am already planning Christmas presents for my nieces and nephews living in Australia.  I also had to wrap up my daughter's birthday present this week, a hand-stitched design on a pillowcase. Took me most of the week, so no new kanzashi to report.  I did however work on some ornament balls, a nice reprieve from stitching and gluing.  It will probably be middle of August before I create a piece that isn't a custom order.

Working working working

So it appears I have been on a kanzashi roll with 4 new pieces in 2 weeks.  I am hoping to have pictures taken this weekend and new listing up next week.  New phone is up and running, despite needing a few tweaks.  I am going to try some different camera programs out, but with the same overall matching theme.

Out of Touch.....

So my phone is on the fritz, which means I won't be easily contacted.  I am having a new one due to arrive Tuesday.  But since I have no phone, I also have no camera, so no pictures any time soon.  I have been working on a great new blue camellia, and hopefully I can have it finished by the time my new phone arrives. I also finished the orange and green piece, it is rather lovely in an autumn kind of way.  With gold and brass accents, it is a very pretty piece.

Working A New Piece

I am about to quit for the night but I just had to share the new piece I have been working. Pumpkin orange is back mixed with olive green for the leaves.  Here is the shot of the butterfly I'm including on this one....

Woe Is Me!!!

Ok, life kinda sucks right now.  Not only did I get into a large patch of poison ivy while trimming and weeding hedges a few days ago, but I am on a new medication for my disease that makes me super drowsy.  Meanwhile I should be coated in calamine and taking benedryl, but I am turning in part time job applications instead.  Joy!
I am working a new kanzashi, a camellia in black and deep eggplant purple accent.  Unfortunately dark colors are very unforgiving, and I am having a hard time keeping the glue from sticking to EVERYTHING.  I will just have to see how bad it is when it is finished.  I've designated this one to my Bestest Friend in the whole wide world, and I hope she loves it cause it is totally being a pain in the butt.
I have asked my husband to watch the kids for a while today so I can get some kanzashi time in, hopefully finish most of that piece and start a few more.  I have the pumpkin orange cut and ready to be used.  What to do with it, I'm not really sure.  Leave me some suggestions in the comments, or on our facebook page!

Hard at Work

Final Attempt
Third times the charm, and this kanzashi is almost finished.  Just add a bira bira and a hair fork and it will be complete.  But for now I will let the glue set overnight.  Don't want to move the petals!!

New Chirimen!!!!

New Supplies
Its a happy day for this crafter!  My new shipment of chirimen came in, three shades of pink, a cherry blossom print on white and a gold kanoko dots on white and pine green! I am most excited about the gold kanoko print, mixed with some gold flecked on white, or a traditional red, it should definitely stand out!
