Third Attempt

Attempt #2

Well, I am now on my third attempt to make this custom order.  Second attempt was better, but my methods of pointing the tip of the petals before laying them just isn't going to work.  I am going to try and salvage it for a different kanzashi, but that may or may not happen.  Just depends on how fluid I can get the rest of it to look.

Ok, I'm back. For real this time.

So I had to disappear for another week.  But I'm back.  Seriously.  Shop is open, work resumes tomorrow night.  I have a custom order I am behind on, mainly because my first attempt was a complete FAIL.  The petals refused to line up, but when they do, look out! This piece is going to be a knockout when it's finished.  Another red and white chrysanthemum style, but instead of pointed petals it is a series of rounded, flower petals separated with a light pink pointed spacers. Throw in a white mum center with a rhinestone charm, and the piece turns into a real statement.  I will have photos in the custom order section when it is finished. 

And I am still working on the How To section.  I have my photos done, but I need to have them lay out on the page correctly, which is , of course, a total PAIN.  Hopefully I can have that done by end of the week, after this custom order job. 

Working Diligently

So I am up tonight working my first how to, starting with the supplies and tools needed for kanzashi.  I am going to start a new page with links to each blog post called How To Kanzashi.  Almost have all my text written and formatted, except I need pictures.  Lots of pictures.  I want there to be no questions, no second guessing.  If I am going to do this, I am going to do it right.

Vacation Mode Activated

Vacation mode is up and running, shop is closed until June 15, 2013.  I will gladly discuss custom orders in the meantime, but I will be unable to ship or make new pieces. 

I will, however, be working on the blog and starting how to guides.

Still changing and updating the site.

I will be continuing to work on it in the coming weeks, adding pages and how to tutorials.  Hopefully I can work out a tripod for a camera.  I am also going to branch into video with a USTREAM account.

Meanwhile I have another custom order in the queue.  And I have to leave for a while and see my sister before she and her family leave the country for several years.

By myself. 10 hours straight driving.

I'll let you know if I survive.

This also means the shop will be in vacation mode June 9 -  15.  Orders placed after 10 am June 8 will not be able to be shipped until the 17. 

I'll be working my custom orders after the 15.  Right now, I'm swamped in family stuff.
